Fees and Funding (see policy 4.10 Payment of fees for more details)

Refundable deposit
To secure your child's place at St Joseph's Pre-school an advanced payment of £25 is required.  This will be refunded in the first term of your child's attendance.  The deposit needs to be paid within a 10 working day timescale.  If the monies are not received within this timescale, regrettably, the place will not be held.  In addition, please note that in the event of your child not taking up their offered place, then the deposit will be retained.

Fees

Fees are payable per term in advance, by BACS, childcare vouchers or via tax-free childcare accounts. We can accept cash and cheques, but we’d rather you use one of the other methods.  Fees must still be paid if children are absent without notice for a short period of time.  For your child to keep their place, you must pay the fees.  Fees are charged to cover running costs only, and are payable for any sessions attended that are not funded by the Nursery Education Funding (NEF) received from Gloucestershire County Council (GCC).

Failure to pay your child's invoice(s) will mean that the setting will enact its debt procedure (4.10.3).  It may also mean that your child is restricted to attending funded hours only and/or no extra sessions or early morning sessions will be accommodated until the debt is paid.

Funding for 3 and 4 year olds

Children who are 3 or 4 years old are eligible to receive funding from GCC to help pay for their child’s early years childcare.  NEF is available from the term after the child’s 3rd birthday. Every child is entitled to 15 hours free childcare, known as ‘Universal entitlement’.  An additional 15 hours free childcare, known as ‘Extended entitlement’, is available to working parents.  Eligibility for this entitlement is income related (see www.childcarechoices.gov.uk or contact their customer interaction centre of 0300 123 4097).  St Joseph’s Pre-school is able to accommodate children who are in receipt of 30 hours free childcare.

Any hours that fall outside NEF will be charged at either £5.25 per hour (from September 2022) dependent on the age of the child and when their birthday falls in the term.

Funding for 2 year olds

St Joseph's Pre-school is registered with GCC to accept funding for 2 year olds. There are two types of 2 year old funding available:

Disadvantaged 2 year old funding: to check eligibility and to apply, visit Gloucestershire County Council's website (www.gloucestershire.gov.uk) and search for "Funding for Disadvantaged 2 year olds"

Working Parents 2 year old funding: to check eligibility and apply, visit www.childcarechoices.gov.uk

Any hours that fall outside NEF, or if your child is not eligible for 2 year old funding, will be charged at £5.25 per hour.

Early Morning Sessions

These run term time only from 8.45 to 9am.  This is to enable parents/carers to drop of their child before the start of Pre-school so they can get to work/appointments without delay.  There are two options available:

In advance: dates for forthcoming term to be booked with the Lead Practitioner before the end of the previous term.  Charged at £2/session.  These sessions will be included on your child's half-termly invoice.

Ad hoc: to be booked with the Lead Practitioner by the lunchtime of the working day before the date required.  Charged at £3.50/session.  A separate invoice will be issued for these sessions. Payable within 7 working days.

4.10 Payment of Fees should be version 17 - see attached.

Extra Sessions

We are happy to accommodate extra session attendance, when staff ratios permit. Extra sessions are charged separately and are payable within 7 working days of the date of the invoice, and will be charged at an hourly rate of £5.25.

Late collection fees

Please note that St Joseph's Pre-school does operate a late collection fee. Please see policy 4.10 Payment of fees for more information.

NB: times and fees may change.  We will be glad to confirm these at the time of application.  Some families may qualify for financial assistance.
