Outdoor Learning is an integral part of St Joseph’s curriculum and enables our children to REACH through Faith, Hope and Love .
It provides our children with the opportunity to extend their problem-solving skills, enhance their interpersonal skills and make links with the learning they experience inside the classroom. Through outdoor learning, our children are provided with the opportunity to connect with nature, manage risk, nurture their wellbeing, develop a sense of self and become creative, independent and resilient learners.
Our outdoor learning area provides our children with opportunities to explore, experiment, move and experience appropriate risk. We have a fire pit, balance beams, two mud-kitchens, vegetable beds, a stage, open-ended natural materials and plenty of space.
