Spring Term 1 2023-2024

Week 4

This week Year 3 have been looking at column subtraction. This was very tricky at first, but we were very resilient and worked hard to get better at it. In English we have been looking at Kenning poems. We loved writing creative poems about ourselves.

In PE we started learning hockey. We learnt how to walk and run with the ball and how to hold a hockey stick.

In RE we have been growing in our faith by learning about St John Bosco. We have been fascinated by his circus tricks!

We have had some very creative Outdoor Learning sessions recently. We have been looking at the tradition of Wassailing, and making our very own music for the trees.

Oliver - Hockey was lots of fun!

Ava - I liked PE because of the little competitions we did!

Joni - I have enjoyed learning about templates in computing this week and going on the laptops.
Week 3

Year 3 have been superstars in math this week practicing the column method for addition. Everyone is now so confident, and we have been showing our high expectations by getting to deepen it. We were all so excited to perform our speeches this week. Lots of children gave very interesting presentations abut the pets, famous people, or even steam engines! It was so interesting to hear!

Lucy: I loved our PE this week. I liked the different ways we can control the ball.

Finn: I enjoyed going on the laptops. I learned how to print something!
Week 2

This week we have really enjoyed our Geography lessons - and have loved looking at the atlases. In art, we used our prints we made to make patterns. We though they looked brilliant! We have also begun our REACH activity of practicing our typing on the laptops.

Finley: I loved going on the laptops because we got to practice our typing.

Ava: I liked PE this week because I like football.
Week 1

We have had a fantastic start to this week - celebrating joining the Little Way Catholic Educational Trust. To celebrate, we made bookmarks with the Little Way prayer, we used tissue paper to make flower art and we even had some cake! We also enjoyed a video call with our partner class.

Fractions have been really interesting this week, and everyone had been upholding their high expectations

We also enjoyed going to mass this week. We would like to remind you that parents/carers are very welcome to join us at mass (the dates are in the newsletter).

Ella: I enjoyed doing PE because we got to make our own dances!

Bea: I think our church service was really great because it was about baptism.

Eliza: I enjoyed going to mass too.
