This week has been so much fun at St Joseph’s – we’ve been engaging in all kinds of physical activities as part of health week!
On Monday, we learned some football skills on the field, a fantastic way to start the week.
Tuesday was Sports Day – a whole day packed full of fun activities and races in the afternoon!
On Wednesday, we took part in some cardio-based obstacle activities, testing both our balance and agility. In the afternoon, we had fun in a speed gates activity, in which we were timed to see how fast we could get from one cone to the other! We also enjoyed a Read With Me sponsored run with a refreshing slice of orange at the end.
On Thursday, we enjoyed some more speed games, as well as a Pilates session in the shade. We then learned some cricket skills on the field, before enjoying a small cricket game. In the afternoon, we practised a dance, which we performed alongside the whole school at the end of the day!

This week in St Peter's Class, we have enjoyed making our healthy wraps in DT - we filled them with all sorts of ingredients, such as cheese, cucumber, chicken, tomatoes and much more!
We also continued our learning in History about Florence Nightingale, in which we discussed Florence's greatest achievements and sorted them in order of importance.
Finally, on Friday, we engaged in some Sports Day practise in P.E - we boosted our balance skills by doing egg and spoon races, and we also enjoyed some relay races.

It's been another very busy week here in St Peter's Class!
In Science, we have been learning all about how to have a healthy, balanced diet, identifying the important foot groups and designing our own healthy dishes.
In RE, we thought about the question 'Who is our neighbour?' and wrote our responses on slips of paper, which we joined together to form a paper chain.
In our English lessons, we have started learning about explanation texts, learning to retell The Water Cycle.
Finally, in PE, we have enjoyed gymnastics and yoga - practising a real mixture of skills!

It's been a very busy first week back at St Joseph's!
In Maths, we've started recapping some of our key learning from the year, including Place Value.
In English, we've been learning all about traditional tales - take a look at some photos below to see us doing our retell of Rumplestiltskin!
We have also continued our gymnastics in PE, putting our skills into practice as we safely travel across the apparatus.

This week in St Peter’s class has been incredibly fun and full of fascinating learning!
On Monday, we enjoyed expressing our creativity through painting in our Art lesson. We took inspiration from famous artists and used our mark making skills to layer primary colours and create detail with different tools – these included tooth brushes and cardboard!
In PE, we continued learning how to put our gymnastics skills into practise on a range of apparatus. We learned how to climb a new piece of equipment whilst holding various shapes, including a tuck and a star.
On Friday in Outdoor Learning, we read ‘The Stick Man’ by Julia Donaldson, and then headed out to our forest area, using natural materials to act out the scenes. Take a look at some photos below!

It’s been another fun-packed week here in St Peter’s Class with lots of fabulous learning!
We enjoyed another week of gymnastics with the brilliant Mrs Dixon – we learned how to do different types of roll along the mat, before doing some more practise on the apparatus equipment.
In R.E this week, we learned all about what happened to the disciples at Pentecost – the children were fascinated to learn that they were able to speak different languages once they had been blessed by the Holy Spirit!
In Maths, we have been continuing to learn about statistics, learning how to create pictograms and interpreting block diagrams.
Finally, in Outdoor Learning, we observed what we could see in our outdoor space, and then used our grammar skills to write nature-themed alliteration poems!

Welcome back to Summer Term at St Joseph's! We've had a very busy first week back with lots of exciting learning.
In Art, we explored the work of two artists, focusing on sculpture and expressive painting. We also started our Geography learning for this term, and this week, we were introduced to Zambia in Africa, identifying it on a map and learning about how it is similar and different to where we live.
We moved onto a new topic in English, in which we learned to retell two new poems to start our Poetry unit: The Moon and What is Pink?
In PE, we had our first gymnastics lesson. We learned some of the positions needed to travel effectively across a range of apparatus - take a look at some pictures below!

This week in St Peter's Class, we have been engaging in lots of fun learning.
On Friday morning, we continued to recap our learning in Maths, remembering how to count in threes (without using our fingers!)
In Outdoor Learning, we went outside to the field to measure liquids, using bowls and containers, in ml and l.
In PE, we used our skills to throw beanbags accurately, assess the space around us and practise balancing by walking with a beanbag on our heads!
