This week in St Peter’s class has been incredibly fun and full of fascinating learning!
On Monday, we enjoyed expressing our creativity through painting in our Art lesson. We took inspiration from famous artists and used our mark making skills to layer primary colours and create detail with different tools – these included tooth brushes and cardboard!
In PE, we continued learning how to put our gymnastics skills into practise on a range of apparatus. We learned how to climb a new piece of equipment whilst holding various shapes, including a tuck and a star.
On Friday in Outdoor Learning, we read ‘The Stick Man’ by Julia Donaldson, and then headed out to our forest area, using natural materials to act out the scenes. Take a look at some photos below!

It’s been another fun-packed week here in St Peter’s Class with lots of fabulous learning!
We enjoyed another week of gymnastics with the brilliant Mrs Dixon – we learned how to do different types of roll along the mat, before doing some more practise on the apparatus equipment.
In R.E this week, we learned all about what happened to the disciples at Pentecost – the children were fascinated to learn that they were able to speak different languages once they had been blessed by the Holy Spirit!
In Maths, we have been continuing to learn about statistics, learning how to create pictograms and interpreting block diagrams.
Finally, in Outdoor Learning, we observed what we could see in our outdoor space, and then used our grammar skills to write nature-themed alliteration poems!
Take a look at the photos below to see our progress in gymnastics.
