Autumn Term 2025

W/C 6.10.25

This week, we have been practising for the upcoming Harvest Festival. We’ve been working really hard to try and use our beautiful singing voices!

We also enjoyed a special Class Prayers session this week with the rest of Key Stage 1, in which we prayed our first Rosary for the month of October.

Additionally, we have moved on to learning about non-chronological reports in English, learning all about how they are structured and how we can use them to find out information.

In Maths, we’ve been learning how to add using our mental maths, bridging through 10 so that we can add two numbers together without using our fingers!

This week, in light of our R.E learning about stewardship, and the fact that we are celebrating Little Way Week, we have written a class prayer all about how we can look after our common home:

Dear God,

Thank you for creating the earth, the plants, animals and people.

Please help us to be good stewards of the earth. We will try to turn the lights off and be careful with how much water we use.

We will put litter in the bin to protect wildlife.

Please be with us as we look after your planet.

Amen.

We have also been busy creating some kindness letters - take a look at some photos below:

It's been a busy week in St Theresa's class!

We've moved onto a new topic in English, focusing on biographies, and learning to retell a biography about David Attenborough.

In Outdoor Learning, we worked in partners to identify objects that are alive, dead and objects that have never been alive in our outdoor spaces.

On Friday, we enjoyed a special activity for European Languages Day, in which we learned to say 'hello' in different languages, identified country flags and discussed the major languages of the world.

We've had a very busy week in St Theresa's class - from practising our multiskills to doing a fascinating Science experiment, in which we looked at the important effects of washing our hands with soap!

In English, we have been writing up our Beauty and the Beast story with substitutions, ensuring we take care to include capital letters and full stops.

The children have also been doing plenty of Place Value work in Maths, focusing on how to order and compare two-digit numbers.
