Spring Term 2 2025/2026

Week 3

We have had a great week in Year 3. We really enjoyed British Science Week! We spent Thursday morning making and racing balloon buggies. We loved decorating them and racing them too. We really were resilient like real engineers.

As part of our science lessons, we learned how to stay safe in the sun. This is very useful knowledge that we can use for the rest of our lives - and is so important now the weather is getting warmer.

In Maths we moved on to our new topic of money. We are being very resilient as there is a lot of new knowledge.

We hope you enjoy the pictures!

Week 2

This week in St Patrick's class we have been continuing with our learning on multiplication and division. We have been dividing with remainders, and dividing multiples of ten by 10. We have become super confident with this.

In Science we have been looking at light, and how it reflects off of objects for us to see it. We are also very excited for British Science Week next week. We were very resilient, this was not easy at first.

World Book Day was definitely the highlight of our week. We loved wearing our comfy clothes and finding cosy places to read. We also enjoyed the hot chocolates school council sold, and some of us very kindly made generous donations to them as well.

We hope you enjoy looking at the pictures!

Week 1

What a great first week back we have had in Year 3! The children have enjoyed lots of new and exciting things this week, as well as starting our new topic on the Romans.

During our week of Awe and Wonder, we have looked at Judaism. We have examined how Jewish people pray, as well as some art by Jewish artists. In Science we also studied the work of Jewish scientist Melvin Calvin, and have begun an experiment to look at how plants transpire.

In Maths we have been very excited to look at column multiplication. All the times table practice you are doing at home is clearly paying off!

In RE we also studied the Feeding of the 5000. We have loved growing in our Faith and exploring the miracles.

We have also started our music topic on Greek Myths. We have looked at playing a drone, and improvising short pieces of music - performing with confidence
