St. Patrick's Class Autumn Term 2 2025/2026

Week 3

This week we have enjoyed lots of different things. In PE we recapped our netball and football skills, and played small games with great empathy and sportsmanship. We have also enjoyed having Mr Robinson again, he taught us about dynamics in music, and we used the words piano, pianissimo, forte and fortissimo to describe our singing. We had a lot of fun! In Music we also learned about two new notes, the minim and the semibreve.

In English we wrote about a Stone Age adventure! It was really interesting and we loved thinking of actions to the story. In History we were looking at how farming changed the Stone Age. It meant that people were no longer nomadic. We are really aspirational because we want to learn more!

We grew in faith this week by looking at the story of Isiah. We all agreed we should speak up for what is right too!

Week 2

This week has been a great week in St. Patrick's class. In Maths we have looked at the 8 times tables, and even listened to a song to help us remember.

We showed our virtue of love on Friday, where we made bookmarks for everyone in Year 4. We had very high expectations when we were making this art.

In RE we grew in our faith by continuing to look at the Mass. We also did some leaders in faith too!

We really enjoyed the Year 5 cake sale today, lots of us enjoyed some yummy cake and enjoyed supporting a good cause. We want to thank everyone who made the cakes.

We also enjoyed being visited by Mr Robinson today to do some singing. We were so impressed with how good we were by the end of the session.
Week 1

We have had such a busy first week back! We jumped right in with an author visit for the Stroud Book Festival, and were able to experience the festival via an online stream. We loved the book we looked at - we have been very into our poetry so far in Year 3! I have loved reading all the poems the children have come in with.

We also dissected some Owl Pellets on Friday this week. We were able to find some bones, and will even be taking some home! This was absolutely facinating!

This week we have looked at multiplying by 3 and 4 in Maths. We have been very resilient, and I can tell lots of us have been practicing!

In English we have been looking at subordinating conjunctions and contractions. We have already been seeing lots of these in our writing.

In PE we have recapped a few of our Football skills, such as how to shoot. We are certainly feeling very confident about this!
