Meet the Governors

St Joseph’s is a voluntary aided school – ‘faith school’ in current parlance – has a Board of Governors with a majority of Foundation Governors – those appointed by the Bishop of Clifton to maintain the Catholic ethos of the school; these are complemented by elected parent governors, representatives of the staff and the head-teacher who also promote the school’s Christian ethos.

The governors’ remit is to appoint the head-teacher and assist her (him) in the management of the school; governors are not managers in their own right, but are there to advise and help the head-teacher with decisions which affect the school’s direction. To do this governors meet at least three times a year as a full governing body, but most of the tasks are delegated to committees as follows; Resources and Learning and Standards.

I am also a very proud mother of two boys; my eldest attends St Joseph’s.  When not on family adventure walks or out exploring the outdoors with my boys, I also enjoy running, swimming and singing.

I love the school ethos.  It is really important to me that this is upheld as I firmly believe that with a solid foundation built through faith, hope and love children really can REACH to be the best they can be, now and in their future.
