Outdoor Learning is an integral part of St Joseph’s curriculum. It provides our children with the opportunity to extend problem-solving skills, enhance communication and interpersonal skills and make links with the learning they experience inside the classroom. Through outdoor learning, our children are provided with the opportunity to connect with nature, learn to manage risk, nurture their wellbeing and sense of self and become creative, independent and resilient learners.
Our outdoor learning area provides our children with opportunities to explore, experiment, move and experience appropriate risk. We have a fire pit, balance beams, two mud-kitchens, vegetable beds, a stage, open-ended natural materials and plenty of space.
