Year 1
It is truly a pleasure to present this award to a remarkable student who embodies kindness and thoughtfulness within her actions. As St Thérèse said, "Miss no single opportunity of making some small sacrifice, here by a smile, there by a kindly word; always doing the smallest things well." She demonstrates this consistently, whether it is through her work or showing compassion to her friends, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. She always brings a smile to everyone’s faces, whether it is with her kindness or her infectious laughter. Her incredible work ethic is evident in everything she does; always challenging herself REACHing to achieve her own high expectations and inspiring those around her. Her work continues to impress me, which deserves to be celebrated each time, and yet she still remains humble. She is a delight to have in the classroom, as her positive attitude and enthusiasm uplift her peers. Her unwavering dedication and spirit make her an inspiration to not only me but to everyone around her. Thank you Tabby for being a shining star always!
Year 2
I am delighted to present this term’s Governor’s Award to an incredibly kind, resilient and hard-working member of St Peter’s Class. This child demonstrates to all exactly what it means to follow in St Therese’s footsteps; he inspires everybody with his little acts of kindness each day. He is always one of the first children to offer a helping hand and shows love to everyone around him. I am so proud of the amazing confidence that this child has developed over the past few weeks; no matter how challenging the task is, he sets high expectations for himself and tries his very best. He truly cares about his studies and is growing in independence. It has been wonderful to see his increasing confidence to share his ideas with the class, and he is never afraid to ask for help when he needs it. I love to see the friendly smile he brings into the classroom each day, and the enthusiasm he brings to our class activities. This child has settled in to life at St Joseph’s incredibly well and I couldn’t be more proud of him. Austin, keep being your amazing self, and I have no doubt you will continue to flourish in your life.
Year 3
Within St Patrick’s class, we would like to celebrate a truly remarkable student whose presence has already made a significant impact on our school community. Though they have not been with us for long, their focused dedication, diligent work ethic, and unwavering kindness have shone brightly.
From the moment they joined our school, this student has not only settled in seamlessly but has also taken on the responsibility of being part of the School Council, proving their commitment to making our school a better place for all. They embody the spirit of friendship, always lending a helping hand and showing compassion to their peers.
As we celebrate this moment, let us remember the words from the Bible that inspire us all: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." - Colossians 3:23.
This child’s journey with us has just begun, and we are excited to see the incredible heights they will reach. Their hard work, kindness, and dedication are truly commendable. May you continue to inspire and lead with grace and humility, Henry.
Year 4
It is with great pleasure that I present this Governor’s award to someone for their kind-natured approach to life and outstanding commitment. This child consistently demonstrates an exceptional work ethic, tackling every task with diligence, determination, and a kindness that inspires those around them. Their politeness and respect for others are evident in every interaction, and they approach all challenges with both empathy and responsibility. Additionally, this person has such a creative flare which shines through in all their work.
Peter 4:10 stated that ‘each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms,’ and this reflects this person and their unwavering support of others. Beyond their schoolwork, this person demonstrates stewardship through their dedication to the Eco Committee, and love and nurture towards all animals, reflecting the empathetic individual they are.
Thank you Lucy, for always being the best you can be and consistently demonstrating our REACH values.
Year 5
It is my pleasure to award the Governors award to a remarkable young individual who embodies the essence of the Catholic Social Teaching and the values and virtues we hold dear.
In every action, he lives out the principles of Catholic Social teaching; upholding the dignity of every person, advocating for justice and peace, and extending compassion to those in need. His kindness is not a mere sentiment but a way of life. Whether its offering a helping hand to a friend in need, standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves or simply sharing a smile with a stranger, he reminds us all of the power of love and empathy.
Furthermore, his love for all of God’s creation is inspiring to see, and we could not ask for a better Steward of the Earth. We all love his enthusiasm for protecting wildlife, gardening, being outside with nature and, of course, identifying tractors!
But what truly sets him apart is his unwavering hope, patience and courage. No matter what the challenge, this boy meets it with a smile and determination. He listens, has hope and resilience, and celebrates with deep joy when the challenge is overcome. We absolutely share the joy of success with him at every opportunity and are inspired by his confidence to overcome all the challenges of life.
Thank you for being such an inspiration, Oliver.
Year 6
"If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely." This quote from Roald Dahl popped into my head when I started thinking about this young lady, and all the ‘little ways’ she contributes to our class - including her smile which brightens my mornings! In Corinthians 13:4 it states, “Love is patient and kind,” and this humble girl has impressed me with her mature approach to Year 6 and her quiet confidence that shines through. Her thoughtful and empathetic contributions during RE sessions, combined with her nurturing role with her reception buddy, showcase a genuine understanding of love and care for others. Whilst on residential she supported many other children and demonstrated understanding, patience and care – this significantly impressed all of the staff. Her loyalty and kindness make her a cherished friend and a valuable member of St David’s class. Her ability to produce meaningful prayers displays her deep understanding and compassion; she truly cares for our common home. Her work linked to Ladato Si was inspiring showing how she is following in the footsteps of Jesus. Just like the beautiful flowers that represent St Therese, I’m excited to see your ‘little ways’ continue and watch how you flourish and grow during our time in Year 6; what a joy it is to have you in our class Isla H.
