Summer Term 2 2024/2025

Week 4

This week we have had a great time practicing our acceleration in PE with our unit on athletics, making sure we are confident in time for sports day.

We grew in our faith this week by going to Mass. It was a Holy Day of Obligation so we were joined by children from across KS2.

In RE we made links between Passover, the Last Supper and the Eucharist.

We have had high expectations this week, we did lots of quizzes ahead of the end of the year - which is fast approaching.

We continued our unit on statistics, learning about pictograms, bar charts and tables. We had a lot of fun making our own bar charts - they looked great!

In Art we examined different pencil shades and how they can create different tones.

Week 2

We have had a great second week in Year 3. We have been excited to begin chopping and practicing our knife skills. We had to be very careful and hold ourselves to very high expectations.

This week we grew in our faith by attending a celebration mass for Mrs Gwyer. We are so grateful for everything she has done for us, and all the hard work she has put into our school over the years. Those of us who have been preparing for their communion have really enjoyed spending time with her.

In English, we continued to write directions, and in maths we have been learning about angles. We have been very resilient when identifying big and small angles. We all made a right angle checker to help us!

In RE we examined the story of the first Passover as written in Exodus. Although this dealt with a lot of grown up themes, we were all very mature and showed we are ready for Year 4!

In our REACH activity with Miss Keightley we made self portraits. We can't wait to show them to each other next week!
Week 1

It has been a great first week back in St. Patrick's class. We have settled in and are feeling confident for the challenges of the exciting term ahead.

This week we have been leaning about capacity. Perhaps you can find things at home that have a measurement of ml/l on the back!

Our DT topic of healthy sandwiches started today, where we were very excited to taste different kinds of sandwich. You can see pictures of this below.

In English we have recapped commas in a list. We are experts now and are super confident!

In RE we grew in our Faith by learning about St Paul and his letters to Corinth. We think his life was fascinating, and that he must have been very resilient. We also finished our topic of the Ascension.

The children are also very excited for their transition time in Year 4. They can't wait to see what they are doing! I can't believe the school year is coming to an end!
