Thursday 1st July
Yet another fun filled day of activities. Today we had a visit from an inspirational Paralympian- Jack Rutter. Jack put us through our paces with several small activities to get our heart rates going! During assembly, Jack spoke about his past and how he became the Captain for England and Great Britain 7- a - side Paralympic football team. A true role model to show that through resilience, determination, support and strength our dreams can come true.
We had a fantastic lesson with Madame Lai, who helped us to sing and dance with her French friend Igor Le Gorille!
This afternoon we conducted an experiment to see what effect exercise has on our heart rates!
Wednesday 30th June
Today we celebrated 'HEALTHY EATING'. We spent some time thinking about what nutrients we can get from different foods. We researched recipes to enable us to plan a healthy menu for a day. The weather held off which meant that we could have our whole school picnic. Unfortunately, it wasn't quite the same as normal years however we made sure that we still had fun.
Tuesday 29th June
We have had great fun today at our sports day. A fantastic day organised by Miss McCarthy has seen us developing our co-ordination skills, our teamwork skills and our sportsmanship skills. We have all taken part in different events such as skipping, throwing, egg and spoon races, sack relays and litter picks.
In the afternoon we competed in distance and sprint races. What a fantastic day!
Monday 28th June
We have had a super busy first day of HEALTH WEEK. We have had sessions with The Sports Project thinking about quick feet and Mr Jordan who taught us some football skills. We have had some great fun creating skeletons in class, thinking about what bones are, the different bones which make up our skeletons and why humans including animals need skeletons.
