Spring Term 2

WB: Monday 21st March 2022
As always, we have had lots of fun especially in Literacy, French and Topic. We have had to show resilience in our numeracy work due to learning something brand new, but we have faith that we will get there! During French this week, we honed our French speaking skills at a French Market... there was video evidence, however you will have to keep an eye on the blog for when we upload them. During Topic, we continued to complete learning on the theme of Space. We did this through listening to music by Gustav and understanding how the music accompanied each planet.
We would say Tuesday stood out this week, when we came into class ready for literacy and there were bongo's on the tables! We listened to various poets perform their poems and then we unpicked Brian Moses, 'I'm Walking My Iguana'. We then all had a go at performing the poem and using the Bongo's. Whilst enjoying the glorious sunshine on Friday, we recorded our final version. Click on the links below to watch our performances.
WB: Monday 14th March
This week we have been showing confidence and setting high expectations for ourselves whilst we write mystery and suspense stories. We really enjoyed sharing our stories with the Class as well as some of our favourite examples of figurative language. On Friday, we were very lucky to take part in a Renishaw 3D printing workshop. We learnt from Lucy how to use ‘Tinkercad’ a computer programme. Lucy taught us how to design our very own keychains, which will be printed for us to paint and take home in coming weeks.
Monday 7th March 2022
This week was filled with so much learning from equivalent fractions-including percentages and decimals. Take a look at the interactive and practical problem solving we did regarding percentages. Not only this but we started our God matters learning this week recapping our knowledge about Lent and even made Mardi Gras masks.

We have been reaching in all areas of our learning. We have particularly been impressing Mrs Hathaway within our French lessons. Why not ask us about the new vocabulary we have been learning!
WB:Monday 28th February
This week we have had a week exploring new books- celebrating World book day- and our Lent retreat afternoon!
Take a look at some of our artwork surrounding ‘The Crayons Who Quit’. We created oil pastel pictures, where we learnt how to blend the colours. We also created artwork using watercolours, where again Mrs Hathaway demonstrated how to blend the colours effectively. We talked at length about what it means to REACH and wrote about how it links to the artwork and world book day focus. It turned out that we had to show resilience when drawing the outline lines of the two people. Take a look at our ‘Lean On Me’ creations below.
