Welcome to Year 4's class blog. We've got a busy start to the year planned and if you scroll down, you can see and hear about some of the things we have been learning about and enjoying this Spring term.

We are not sure where this term is going but we have had another jam packed week in Year 4. We made buzzer circuits in science, ready for our end of unit quiz next week. We have been enjoying well-being week and also thinking about our online safety in RSHE. There have been signs of spring this week, and on Friday we had a great time learning hockey skills in the sunshine.

Another busy week in Year 4. We’ve been imagining we’re Lewis Latimer and writing our own autobiographies, practising column subtraction in numeracy and thinking about how we stay safe in the physical world and online in RSHE. We’ve also been looking at the story of the Transfiguration in God Matters and of course, finishing off our week with another great music lesson!

How is already the end of January? We’ve had such fun this week, particularly in science where we got to predict and make circuits. We also learnt about Thomas Edison in literacy as part of our unit on autobiographies. Swimming took place again and Mrs Hares was very proud of how much progress we’ve made in the last few weeks. It’s really fun learning with your friends.

We’ve had a great week in Year 4. We are enjoying practising column addition in numeracy and on a Friday we have started learning first aid as our REACH activity for this term. We also met Francois in French. He is helping us practise our conversational French and the topics we are learning in class. This week he was asking us about what fruit we liked.

We have enjoyed our first full week back at school this week. We have been getting stuck in with our new topic of electricity, learning about explanation texts in literacy and looking at multiplication and division in numeracy. Away from our usual lessons, we have also started swimming once a week. We were very excited to go on the coach and really enjoyed our lessons. On Fridays this term we are also lucky enough to be visited by  Gloucestershire music. We are learning to play the clarinet!
