The great outdoors! Today in outdoor learning we explored all of the natural resources we could find in the outdoor area. We found lots of leaves, sticks, feathers and conkers. Tuesday 8th October

We're going on an adventure! This afternoon we went on a walk around the village. It was touch and go whether we'd be able to go due to a downpour of rain just before we left but the rain held off and off we went.
We headed off with our clipboard and looked for features of the village to tick off. We also had to follow footprints placed around the village to ensure we were heading in the right direction.

We had so much fun that we wanted to stay out and explore more of the village.

The great outdoors! Today we spent the afternoon exploring our outdoor area. We discussed what colours we could see on the trees and the environment around us. We found out that we could see a lot of yellow and starting to see brown as we are moving into autumn.

We each had a paint sample and had to find colours that matched our sample. We found lots of shades of greens, browns and yellows. We came back to our circle and shared with our friends the variety of colours that we found.

Finally we were giving one more challenge. We had a strip of paper that we filled with lots of different colours from the outdoor environment. We took our fantastic work home with us but take a look at our photos below.

Today we have been exploring length. We started the day by wondering where the large footprint had come from and tried our best to work out whose foot it may have been.

We then measured our feet against the large footprint to work out whose was smaller and whose was bigger. We also used unifix an compared how many unifix it took to measure the big footprint compared to our own feet.
Wednesday 25th September

Today we had our first whole class PE lesson and what fun we had!! We learnt how to balance on different parts of our bodies. We then used the benches and explored different ways to move across the benches. We decided we had to be very careful because the blue mats was water and had sharks in so we couldn't fall in.

As we were so good at balancing on the thick side of the bench we then had a go at balancing on the narrow side of the bench. This was so tricky! We worked together in our teams and as you can see from our photos we even supported and helped our friends. Take a look at our fantastic balancing below.
Technology - Monday 23rd September

Today we explored the laptops and the Ipads. We all worked with a partner to draw pictures using the computer software. We found the laptops a bit tricky, remembering to press the button on the mouse and not pressing the screen but we worked with resilience and produced fantastic drawings.
