Spring term 1 (2022-2023)

Friday 13th January 2023
Today the children got to do music with Mrs Loveridge for their REACH activity. They started with a hello song and a warm up dance. Then they got to explore the rainbow coloured bells and sing a song to go with them. After that the children got some wooden sticks and practised banging the sticks together and saying the syllables in their names. At the end of the lesson Mrs Loveridge played her violin to the children which they loved!
Friday 13th January 2023
The children started their DT topic on sliders and levers. They got to investigate lots of existing levers and evaluate them. They had questions on their tables such as What is it? Who is it for? How will it move? and they had to discuss it in groups and write their ideas down.
Friday 20th January 2023
Today the children practised their cutting skills by cutting along the dotted lines. Then I showed the children how to make their own slider. They each had a go at making their own sliders. They showed resilience when things went wrong.
Friday 3rd February 2023
This week we have been doing measurement in maths. Today the children practised ordering objects in height order. They enjoyed ordering the towers and animals by height. We even put members of Year 1 in height order!
